Invitation To Compete At The United States Kart Grand Prix.

This letter from Bernie Adamson, Promoter U.S Grand Prix

Ladies and Gentlemen,
If i may take a moment of your time and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bernie Adamson and I am the promoter of the United States Kart Grand Prix. Some of you i know personally and i have already spoken with or e-mailed.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come to VIRginia International Raceway over the weekend of December 14-16, 2007 for the second running of the "United States Kart Grand Prix".

I have had response's back from several of the Europeans who are prominent in the field of Superkarts who have said that they are coming as well as Mr.Sam Zavaglia and Mr.Brian Stockman from Australia along with Mr.Trevor Roberts and Mr.Ian Harrison.
Mr.Ian Rushforth will be a spectator for the weekend and Mr.Ken Walker has graciously accepted the announcer position.

We believe that this has the potential to have the largest group of Superkarts assembled at one time and venue in the United States and is a perfect opportunity for the Superkart community ro show off these beautiful machines. Not only that but as i am sure some of you have looked at the e-mail addresses you can see we have invited the Worlds top drivers to race.

At this time there will be a Twenty Seven Thousand US Dollar Purse for the classes that are running.

Formula E and ICE will both have a $5000 purse along with a pole position award and fast lap awards.

This will also be the first time in history that the Grand East Course has been run by karts. VIR is truly an exceptional facility and the staff second to none.

Temperatures for Southern Virginia taken over a 10 year Average, are approximately 53 degrees...last year we had 70 degree weather for the entire weekend. Precipitation is very low but can never be ruled out so consequently the race is being held "Rain or Shine".

Here is a link to the story that has been running on Ekarting News : http://www.ekartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=7669

Speeds over the weekend will vary from approx 63mph for the cadets to somewhere in the 150mph range for the Superkarts.

I have included a link to a video of what the 4 mile circuit looks like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_mqA5xvFM0

Thank you all for your time and I look forward to hearing back from each and every one of you. If nothing else would you be as kind as to spread the word amongst any of your friends, clients and customers.

And before i forget, NO we do not have any licensing requirements. We are an Independent not associated with any organization.

Yours in Karting

If you want to leave your kart/equipment in Australia so to attend both rounds, I'm more than happy to provide security storage at my place over the 10 weeks (Sydney) at no cost. I promise not to inspect your engines in this time. :)

Dates have been set for the 2007 Australian Superkart Championship. This is for the Australian No.1 plate! These are the 2 very best circuits in Australia, both are world class.

Race entry is usually about USD$300 each round that will include garage.
We can provide things such as kart stands, tyre bead breakers, balancers to use and also provide the sale of consumables such as oils, tyres, etc. to save on your shipping costs. I can also collect your stuff from your freight people (Sydney) to ensure safe arrival.

I'm in the process with our local racing body to accept the CIK International Superkart Licence. Still waiting the outcome.
I'm hoping to make this a big international event to raise the profile of the sport worldwide.
This email just to give you our dates if your are interested.

If your just interested in coming to Australia to have a go at both circuits in just one trip, there is club level racing at the above 2 circuits, one weekend after the other.

Kelgate Brakes Are Back In Business

This just in from Steve Howlett - Sales Director, R3 Technology

The news that the world renowned manufacturer of arguably the best kart braking systems in the world had gone out of business had brought tears to the eyes of many hardened kart racers but here’s something to put the smile back on your face…KELGATE ARE BACK!!

This will no doubt come as a relief to the thousands of customers around the world who fit and use Kelgate braking systems on their karts.

A deal has been struck between former owner, Frank Vasquez and R3 Racing’s Roy Tuthill.

Franks engineering company, Addmore Engineering, will manufacture all the machined parts whilst Kelgate Ltd will handle all the assembly.

Both Addmore Engineering and R3 are used to producing products to exacting standards and operate in accordance with ISO9001.Their customer lists include such names as Honda, Ford, Jaguar and British Aerospace to name but a few.

Exclusive worldwide rights to market the product rest with R3 Racing who are already well known for their world beating Eagle eye system of laser alignment equipment.

“It is a very exciting addition to the R3 portfolio” said Roy Tuthill “Both Kelgate and R3 are known throughout the world for quality products and for being amongst the best at what they do. We are very much looking forward to bringing this to the market”

R3 will be appointing Kelgate distributorships within the UK and worldwide, utilising some existing members of their own network.

Sales Director, Steve Howlett added “Although we have an established worldwide network of distributors for R3 Racing products we will be looking at previous customers of Kelgate Ltd who have shown a constant sales record in the past  as well as chassis manufacturers who wish to fit the best”.

So if you want to be able to brake late into that corner or stop on a six pence, the best brake system in the world is back, to allow you to do so.

Return of Superkart Racing to Broadford.

Lots of time and effort have been put into the works necessary to bring the old Broadford circuit up to Cams track license  requirements which will allow the return of superkart racing to this circuit.

As we speak, work is underway on the construction and improvements to the  tyre walls, runoff areas and pit entry and exits. The track is slated for a full course re-surface including the pit entries and areas in October.

There has been keen interest shown in hosting the National Superkart Championships in 2006 here!
