| Leon Glover
Leon is in his (very) early 60's and a
grandfather of 2, Leon may be one of the 'granddads' of FV racing and is in
an unusual situation of following his son (Kieran) into the sport.
Always a motor enthusiast from several early
years of rally driving, Leon was a member of the Organising Committee of
Targa Tasmania for a number of years until work commitments would no longer
allow him the free time to participate at that level although he still
contributes on the ground as an official. His many many years of flag
marshalling, highlighted by positions at the Australian Grand Prix at both
Adelaide and Melbourne as well as Bathurst, has seen him train many a 'newby'
and he was Tasmanian Official of the Year some years back.
After 30 years in Telstra, Leon retired as a
Principal Technical Officer, spent several years in the real estate industry
in the Derwent Valley area and has been a Qualified Driving Instructor for
some years now. Leon not only teaches beginner drivers but conducts
defensive driving courses, winter driving and "back in the driver seat"
training. He also lectures and demonstrates for Rotary International's Youth
Driver Awareness Program held annually at the Derwent Entertainment Centre.
Leon contracts with VIP Driving School.
Leon is sponsored by VIP Driving School
(Robin Eccles) and is also supported by Sign*a*Rama (Michael Caruso)
