At race meetings and at bench racing
sessions guys come up and ask plenty of questions about superkart
accredited Cams scrutineer, I get to look at plenty of
racing iron and at times the condition and state of
preparedness of machines submitted for scrutineering at
races is laughable, to say the least!
This has moved me to pen some info on
basic pre-race and regular superkart maintenance.
I haven't bothered to include any detailed
or specific engine maintenance as this activity varies
widely depending on the state of tune of the engine and a
myriad of other reasons too numerous to list.
What is here is just basic day to day type
of stuff relevant to every karter from absolutely new to
veteran. Just because guys have been in the sport for many
years does not mean that he, or she is any more particular with his
preparation and indeed many "old timers" are
guilty of next to non-existent or at best, minimal
